Easy Party Appetizers For Superbowl Sunday
With Superbowl Sunday the emphasis is just as much on food as it is on the game. Easy party appetizers are perfect for this occasion and you might be wondering which Superbowl party recipes to make for your friends and family.
If you have people coming over to watch the game, you will want to make some tasty snacks and holiday appetizers for them. Traditional Superbowl party recipes include ribs, wings, chips and dips, burgers, pizza and anything else which can be eaten with the fingers. Forget fancy appetizer recipes for this occasion and focus on simple food which is easy to make and tastes great.
Traditional Superbowl Party Recipes
First of all, you might want to make some kind of chicken wings dish. You can make honeyed chicken wings, spicy wings, BBQ wings or another variety.
The same goes for ribs and you can make any kind of dressing or sauce for your ribs, to give them a mouthwatering flavor, or use a rub before you cook them.
Chips and dips are a great idea for quick easy appetizers. Not only can you stock up on bags of chips in case your other easy party appetizers start disappearing with alarming speed, but dips are simple to make yourself and there are plenty of dip recipes to choose from.
You might want to make a selection of dips and serve maybe salsa, hummus, sour cream and onion dip and a hot dip recipe too. Homemade dips are much nicer than store-bought ones and they taste fresher.
Recipe for Sticky Maple Ribs
Ribs are a Superbowl staple and these sticky maple syrup flavored ribs are really delicious. This recipe makes enough ribs to feed six people. If you want to start this recipe in the morning you can use a crockpot. Crockpot ribs are really succulent and you can cook them in five or six hours in a slow cooker.
What you will need:
3 lbs baby back pork ribs
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
How to make it:
Put the ribs in a big pan and cover them with water. Put the lid on the pan and simmer the ribs for an hour. Drain them and arrange them in a shallow dish.
Combine the other ingredients in a saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil. Simmer it for 5 minutes, stirring often. Let this sauce cool for 5 minutes then pour it over the ribs.
Leave them to marinade for 2 hours in the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Take the ribs out of the marinade and bake them for 2 1/2 or 3 hours, or until the meat is falling off the ribs. Boil the marinade for 5 minutes and serve it with the ribs as a dipping sauce.
