Simple Shrimp Appetizer Recipes
I have always loved shrimp. Shrimp can be served both hot and cold and both as an appetizer or as the main course.
Here are several ways to serve shrimp as an appetizer:
Shrimp and Bacon Appetizers
1 pound of shrimp
2-3 tablespoons of hot sauce
1 pound of bacon
Rinse and drain shrimp, pat dry. Marinate shrimp in hot sauce for about 15 minutes. Partially cook bacon, slice in half. Roll one shrimp per half slice of bacon, secure with a toothpick. Bake in oven at 400*F until crisp.
Shrimp Cocktail
We have found cocktail sauce both in mild and in hot. Experiment with cold cooked shrimp. We serve shrimp cocktail in glass ice cream dishes. Place a few tablespoons of cocktail sauce in the dish. Put 4-6 shrimp around the glass. If you want, insert a lemon wedge in the middle of the dish.
Shrimp Spread
1 - 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1 - 8 ounce jar of cocktail sauce (try both spicy and mild)
1 - 2.25 ounce can of sliced black olives, drained
1/2 pound cooked bay shrimp
3 green onions, chopped
Crackers for serving
Spread cream cheese on a medium round serving platter. Spread the cocktail sauce on top of the cream cheese. Top with baby shrimp, green onions and olives. Chill in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers.
Hot Shrimp and Cheese on Bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup butter, softened
1 egg, separated
25-35 bread squares (I use a bread that is not soft, such as multigrain or rye. I also remove the crusts)
25-35 shrimp, cooked, peeled and deveined
Cream together the butter and cheese. Blend in egg yolk. In a separate bowl, beat egg white until stiff peaks form. Mix egg white into cheese mixture. Place the bread squares on an ungreased cookie sheet. Top each bread square with one shrimp and cover with rounded teaspoonful of the cheese mixture. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve hot.
Each of these recipes is simple to make and can be prepared in a very short amount of time.

Simple Crockpot Appetizers
Break that crockpot out of the cupboard more often. Do not use it just to make stews and soups; you can use crockpots to make dips, sauces and all sorts of appetizers. One of the best things about making meatballs in the crockpot is they stay moist and tender. You can even serve them directly from the crockpot; just place some toothpicks or small skewers nearby that your guests can use to spear them and put them on their plates.
Crockpot meatballs can be made with all sorts of sauces. Use a barbecue sauce, or our zesty beer and tomato sauce published here in this recipe. You can also make Swedish meatballs this way. Instead of them becoming dried out from the oven, they get to cook slowly, covered in sauce. The meatballs soak up the flavors of the sauce and retain their natural moisture. When you take a bite you will be transported to culinary bliss. All the flavors of the sauce come together in your mouth with the ground beef, creating a wonderful taste sensation. You could even make this for dinner one night and serve it alongside potatoes, rice or even over pasta. What an easy, delicious meal!
If you like meatballs, invest in a couple different crockpots and you can make several different recipes when your friends come over to watch the big game or you want to ring in the New Year. Leftover sauce can be used as a dip for bread slices or poured over rice or potatoes. Use your imagination. Crockpot appetizer recipes are easy and make preparing for your party less stressful.
Recipe for Zesty Beer Meatballs
These delicious meatballs are full of flavor and spice.
What You Need
3 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup onions, chopped and divided
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs, finely ground
3 eggs
1 can (12 ounces) of your favorite beer
1 (6 ounces) can V-8 juice (regular or spicy)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 large bottle (14 to 16 ounces) of ketchup
1 teaspoon horseradish
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
How to Make It
Mix the ground beef, half of the onions, the bread crumbs, and eggs in a bowl. Do not be afraid to use your hands. Form the mixture into small meatballs.
Brown the meatballs in a large skillet, turning frequently to brown all surfaces. Alternatively, you could also bake them in the oven for 30 minutes at 375 degrees F. until they are browned. Drain the meatballs and discard the fat.
Take a saucepan and combine the beer, V-8 juice, lemon juice, hot sauce, ketchup, horseradish, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the meatballs into the crockpot. Pour the sauce over them. Cover and let them cook on Low for 3 to 6 hours. Occasionally, gently stir the meatballs.
If you want more sauce, add more ketchup and V-8. Season accordingly.
Makes 6 dozen meatballs.

Easy Recipe - Strawberry Pie
Since spring is finally here, sort of (it snowed here in Denver on Easter day, sigh), I thought I would share one of my favorite strawberry recipes with you. It is a pretty easy recipe that does not even require any baking. Start to finish, it takes about 20 minutes. As I do at my baking site, I am going to share with you here the story behind the recipe.
Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie
Strawberries are my favorite fruit. I always have them around when they come into season in the spring. It always brings back memories of going to pick berries with my family in the summer. We would all pile in the car with buckets and ice cream pails, eager to taste fresh summer berries. We would go to one of the nearby berry farms that had acres and acres of berries. I remember it seemed so huge to me as a kid and I could not believe how many rows upon rows upon rows there were. All of us kids of course ended up eating just as many berries as we picked. There is nothing that has quite as much flavor as a strawberry fresh from the field, warm with sunshine. Makes me want to go hunt down a local berry farm so I can share that memory with my daughter!
1 package (8 ounces) strawberry flavored cream cheese1 package (3.4 ounces) vanilla flavored pudding 2 cups cold milk
1 (6 ounce) ready-to-use graham cracker pie crust
1 pint of strawberries
Prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package directions. (Put the pudding mix and the milk into a bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes.) Allow it to set for 5 minutes. I usually use this time to start washing and cutting the strawberries. I typically just cut them in half for this recipe. Once the pudding has set, place the cream cheese in a medium sized bowl and mix with an electric mixer for 30 seconds at low speed. Add the pudding to the cream cheese and mix for about one minute on low speed. Put the mixture into the pie crust and put it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Continue washing and cutting the strawberries while the pie is in the refrigerator. Place the strawberries on top of the pie. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
Enjoy your spring (and your berry picking adventures)!
Happy Baking!

John's Jamaican BBQ Jerk City In Savannah, GA - Restaurant Review
John's Jamaican BBQ Jerk City is not as monstrous as it sounds. The restaurant itself, located next to Allyanna's Pizzeria at 205A Montgomery Crossroads, would go unnoticed if it weren't for the giant wooden sign attached to a car parked out front-which the city is trying to get removed. John, who is originally from Jamaica, owns and operates the restaurant by himself; the establishment only has eight tables so this is not an impossible task, but it's also not an easy one. The maroon and white floor tiles and floral wallpaper are a little harsh on the eyes, but the menu's variety makes up for it. Appetizers include codfish cakes, jerk or BBQ wings, plantains, coconut shrimp or escoveitch king fish. You can also start off with a soup made with chicken, cow feet, vegetable, beef, conch or goat. A pattie-similar to a turnover-is filled with beef, chicken, shrimp or vegetables. With a variety of the house specialty-BBQ or jerk meats, one can choose turkey, duck, ostrich, wild boar, goat, pork or chicken. The sides include macaroni and cheese, rice and peas, vegetables, corn and salad, and most meals are served with fried plantains. The extensive dessert menu serves up bread pudding and slices of carrot cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake and fruitcake. If you are looking to enjoy a fresh, home-cooked meal prepared especially for you by John himself, this restaurant is the place to go. Lunch and dinner prices range from $6.50 to $18 and offer a variety ...

part 3 of 3 - Google controlling to allege at '07 commencement
www.RealtorAmir.com Omid Kordestani By Donny Deutsch What Apple did for computers in 1984, Google is doing for advertising and business in the 21st century. How cool is a company that mastered Internet search and then drove well past it? Google, by any measure, defined a new way of looking at so many industries. It personified and refined search. It brought real, tangible metrics to the advertising and search businesses. It continually evolves its product offerings to advertisers and consumers—often identifying the need beforehand. And it has achieved the holy grail by becoming a verb that defines a category, a la Xerox in the 1970s and FedEx in the '90s. Healthy Cookie Recipes - Vegan and Gluten Free
Vegan cookies, gluten-free cookies, wheat-free cookies...healthy cookie recipes are easy to make if you are willing to experiment with a few alternative quality ingredients. Agave nectar is the perfect sweetener for such baked treats. Not only because of its superiority to refined sugars, but also for its moisture-retaining qualities.
Healthy Cookie Recipes Can Be Made Without Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Or Milk!
Let's start with a solid base of ground nuts. We can use whatever fits best our personal preferences and budget. Pecans tend to be a bit more expensive than almonds and hazelnuts (filberts), walnuts are often on sale or available at a less expensive regular price. Always buy bulk, and halves and pieces are just fine. No need to get whole nuts since we ground them up anyway.
A good cookie recipe should include some fat. As we want to keep this healthy, nutritious, and acceptable for vegans, let's forget about the butter and choose instead almond, cashew, or peanut butter, or a combination thereof. If you don't like the flavor or price of nut butters, substitute with organic canola oil.
Great, but what about the flour if we want to make gluten-free cookies? The answer is: organic brown rice flour! Works like a charm and is much healthier than white flour.
Next up: which sweetener? As stated above, agave nectar is a great sweetener for baked goods. Similar to honey, it helps retain the moisture in cookies and cakes. It also blends quickly and easily with all other ingredients for a well-mixed batter.
To add flavor to this basic healthy cookie mix, use some vanilla or almond extract, ground cinnamon, crushed anise seeds, and a pinch of salt, of course.
And to add even more nutritional value, consider lightly toasted rolled oats, raisins, sesame seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. My goodness...what to do with all that energy?
Why This Is An Easy Healthy Cookie Recipe For Vegan Cookies And Gluten-Free Cookies
We don't really need a recipe for these incredible power morsels of nutrition. It all depends on what we have on hand, or what we like to eat, or what we want to buy. Here is a simple recipe template utilizing the ingredients discussed above:
4 cups ground nuts
1 cup nut butter or 1/2 cup organic canola oil
1 cup organic brown rice flour
3/4 cups agave nectar
1 Tablespoon vanilla or almond extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon crushed anise seeds, cardamom, or other spices
1 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1/2 cup each raisins or toasted oats or seeds
The individual ingredient quantities don't really matter that much. The template is just a general guide line. Our goal is to mix a batter that holds its shape when divided into cookie-size balls. We might have to add a little water if the mix is too dry and crumbly. Or, we might have to add more brown rice flour to a wet and sloppy batter.
This is the best part: As we are not using raw eggs, we can taste our cookie batter before we bake it off! Add more agave nectar if you like it sweeter, more spices or seeds, until you are happy!
Important points for the baking process!
Place 2-inch balls on a parchment-lined cookie pan and flatten lightly with a fork (similar to making peanut butter cookies, dip the fork in cold water before pressing it on the cookie portions)
Use a fairly low oven temperature: 8-10 minutes at 300-325 degrees; agave nectar browns a little faster than sugar, so keep an eye on your cookies and don't let them get too dark on the bottom!
Remember, there are no raw eggs in our batter; we won't have to bake it completely through. A lightly "under-baked" interior is wonderful!
So, be adventurous and experiment with a variety of nuts, seeds, dried fruits, spices, and whatever you love in your gourmet vegan cookie. As long as you don't burn them black, they will always be good eating. And because they are so healthy and nutritious, they'll be good for you, too!

Monkey See, Monkey Eat?
Have you ever sat down at a restaurant and said to yourself, "I'm only going to have..." only to find yourself eating just as much as everyone else? Chances are you have, and it's happened more than once.
Humans are highly social animals, we're also highly influenced by the cues of those around us, whether it be fashion, music, TV-- or food-- we often want what we see someone else enjoying.
So what happens when you let someone else's food decisions influence yours? If that person is in great physical shape and eats a clean diet rich in vitamins & nutrients, then you're in luck! But it's far more likely that you're surrounded by people who eat too much fast-food, super size everything and still make room for dessert. This type of eating will lead you down the path to obesity and adverse health conditions - even an early death.
So how do you help curb this potentially fatal habit of "monkey-see-monkey-do"? Simple: Become the Influencer. Instead of following what your friends, family and co-workers are consuming, set the tone yourself. By showing restraint you're not only exercising self-discipline, you're conveying the message to others that you control your hunger, not vice versa.
Restaurants:
Instead of going out for dinner with your friend and ordering 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts, why not order 2 appetizers (preferably the healthy options), share an entree and a dessert. Not only are you eating less, you also have more time in between courses to actually talk! The other added benefit is you're saving money (which you can spend on those skinny jeans you'll be fitting into). All you have to say to your server is, "we're going to share the..." and the kitchen will split the meal for you. If that's not an option, still order the single item and ask for a share plate; you can split the meal at the table yourself.
Clubs/Bars:
Chances are you've already decided that you want to drink - but remember, Alcohol is empty calories. You may not think that drinking can be nearly the same as eating out, but here are some figures to consider:
1oz of 80 proof (40% alcohol) gin, rum, vodka or whiskey is 64 calories
3.5oz glass of wine is 85 calories
12oz bottle of beer is 153 calories
If you prefer mixed drinks, you might be in for a shock:
6.8oz Pina Colada is 526 calories, 3.9g of sugar AND 16.9g of fat!
3.5oz Whiskey Sour (1.5oz of liquor) is 162 calories and 13.6g of sugar
Maybe you'll just have a Red Bull & vodka? A can of Red Bull contains 110 calories and 27g of sugar(!!!), PLUS the 64 calories from the 1oz of vodka.
So instead of going out and drinking till you're cross-eyed, you have a couple and then switch to water, pellegrino or un-sweetened iced tea. There's nothing wrong with actually remembering what you did last night. Don't want to be labelled as the party-pooper? Offer to be the designated driver, or simply say "I'd rather be enjoying a drink poolside on vacation looking fabulous in my swimsuit." Remember, it's called a Beer Belly for a reason.
At Home/With Family:
We already know that child obesity is an epidemic sweeping across the planet. Why not be the positive change in your family's life by showing them you can eat less and still enjoy your meal. Not only should you try and prepare all your meals yourself (so you know what's going into them), but take the time to enjoy what you're eating. It's not a race to see who can finish the fastest and almost everyone has a PVR, so it's not like you'll miss your favourite show. Instead of racing for seconds-- or dishing out more food on your kid's plate-- wait 10 minutes and see if you're still hungry. It's takes the body time to send the signal to your brain that you're full. You can always pack up what's left and take it for lunch the next day-- another easy way to avoid eating out!
Taking control of what you put in your body is the first step to nutritional wellness and weight management. Avoid the peer-pressure and social cues to eat unhealthy or to excess by visualizing your end goal. Imagine how much better you'll look in 6 months by breaking these habits now - don't be afraid to share your goals with others, help them make goals for themselves too.
Remember, YOU want to be the Influencer.

The Simply Delicious Banana Bread Recipe
There are a number of mouth-watering and easy to make recipes that people can have during breakfast. One such popular dish is the banana bread recipe whose origin lies in Australia. It is quite tasty and does not need much time to prepare. Both children and adults can enjoy this dish during breakfast.
It is also quite popular in continents like North America. But the residents of Australia are really fond of it. The benefit of the dish is that it is filling as well as appetizing. As a matter of fact, the bread used in North America is thicker than the bread used in Australia. Not everybody knows the right way to prepare banana bread recipe. It has an irresistible sweet taste and flavor that make people crave for it. It can be eaten with coffee or tea.
The banana bread recipe became popular in USA in the early part of the 20th century and it was found in various recipe books in that time. Baking at home gained popularity in the 1960s and people tried making banana bread at home instead of going to the cafes.
It is quite easy to make banana bread at home. The main ingredient to make this recipe is banana. This needs to be mashed properly. The bread making process also necessitates fermentation of the main ingredient. Earlier yeast was used in making bread but for banana bread recipe baking soda is used. The thick batter that will turn into the bread should be kept in a thick rectangular pan. Generally egg is used for making banana bread but the vegetarian people can use yogurt or tofu.
At first a person needs to mix sugar with butter until the mixture becomes fluffy and light. Thereafter, the mashed bananas need to be added to the mix and stirred so that all the ingredients blend well together. Next, one needs to add the vanilla extract. The eggs need to be beaten in a separate bowl. When it is done, the egg needs to be added to the banana batter. The dry ingredients in the recipe need to be added to the egg mixed batter thereafter.
One need a 9x5 inch sized rectangular baking tray for baking the banana batter properly. The baking tray needs to be well greased with butter. The optimum baking temperature for the banana bread recipe is 350F. One should ideally bake the batter for one hour and should check the progress of baking in the time with the help of a toothpick. After the baking is done one can keep the banana bread on a wire rack. This will make it cool down. The bread can then be sliced with knife and served with tea.

Easy and Delicious Thin Pancake Recipe
When it comes to having breakfast, pancakes are the first thing that come to mind. Delicious, nutritious, sweet and packed with energy, pancakes have all of these things, plus they are great tasting. Traditional pancakes are too thick and cannot be rolled with other ingredients. But, what if you can make thin pancakes? Imagine the possibilities? well... the good news is that, you can make thin pancakes quite easily, by following these easy steps.
How to prepare Thin Pancakes?
First of all you will need to separate the two eggs yolks from the egg white, by crack opening the egg on top of a filter with a container underneath it. You can use a tradition tea filter, which will effectively separate the egg yolk.
Add a 1/4 salt to the egg white, then beat them until they are stiff, you may want to use a portable blender for this one.
Once done, add 70 grams of sugar to the egg yolks, and then use a manual whisk to mix up the sugar and eggs.
Now add 200 milliliters of milk to the mixture of egg yolks and sugar, again mix them well by using a tradition whisk.
Once done mixing, add 110 grams of sieved flour into the mixture of egg yolk and sugar, now mix it well.
Put the mixture through a sieved filter, to check to see if you have any clumps formed up, if so, stir the clumps up using a whisk.
Add two soup spoons of RUM, that's right you heard it right RUM (optional if you don't want to put alcohol in your food).
Now add the stifled egg white with the mixture, and mix well using a whisk.
Add some salad oil in a small tea plate, or any small bowl, now take a piece of tissue paper, fold it up neatly and place it in the oil, wait, till it the tissue paper soaks up all the oil.
Now take a frying pan, pick up the tissue papers and spread it all around the frying pan.
Pour the pancake batter into the frying pan, and spread the batter into the frying pan by tilting it evenly, so that the batter spreads evenly in the frying pan.
Fry the pancake using medium to low heat, so that you don't over cook them.
Remember: don't forget to flip them over, so that they could cook more evenly.
Enjoy!

Risotto Cakes Topped With Bacon, Mushroom and Pea Sauce
This is one of my favorite things to make, it requires a little time and a few steps. However, the end result of flavor and presentation make this dish worth the work.
In my opinion, this dish certainly rivals the best of restaurants. Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Difficulty (Scale from 1-10): 7
Serves: 4-6
Prep Time: 30-40 minutes
Total Time: 60 minutes
Ingredients
2 tablespoons salted butter
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 large Vidalia onion - chopped
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 cups of long grain white rice
4 cups of chicken stock
2/3 - 1 cup of parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
non-stick cooking spray
4 slices of bacon - cut into 1/2 slices
1 pound of sliced Portobello mushrooms
2 cubes of chicken bouillon
2 cups of heavy cream
1 cup of frozen peas - thawed
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup or more of olive oil
1 cup of all purpose flour
Preparation of Risotto
In a large pot on medium-high heat, add butter and olive oil, once butter is melted add onion and crushed red pepper, sauté until onions are translucent.
Add rice and stir, making sure rice is well coated (2-5 minutes).
Slowly add chicken stock, bring to a boil and then lower heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from heat.
Stir in parmesan cheese, taste and add more cheese if necessary. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Then cool to room temperature.

While risotto is cooling, over medium heat, add bacon to a sauce pan and cook so fat is rendered (fat should look translucent), making sure that the bacon remains soft and not crunchy.
Add mushrooms to sauce pan and sauté until mushrooms are tender. Add chicken bouillon and dissolve, add cream, and peas then simmer for 15 minutes.
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
Re-heat prior to serving over risotto cakes.
Preparation of Fried Risotto Cakes
Remove baking pan with risotto from refrigerator. Remove plastic wrap.
Heat a large skillet with 1/4 inch of olive oil in pan over medium-high heat.
Using a knife cut risotto into squares (approximately 4X4 inch), use a spatula to remove from pan. Add flour to a large semi-flat plate.
Take each risotto square and (lightly) coat with flour in plate, flipping over to so both sides are now lightly covered with flour.
Test oil (by dropping a little flour) in frying pan and make sure oil is hot enough.
Fry each risotto cake until both sides are golden brown. (Note: Be careful not to break-up cake while turning over during the frying process).
Remove from skillet.
Serve fried risotto cakes topped with the bacon, mushroom, and pea sauce.
Enjoy your meal!

Southern Seafood Pizza - Can it Be That Easy to Make?
Southern Seafood Pizza
1 Can Pillsbury French Bread Loaf
1 LB. Snow Crab Legs (Steamed)
1/2 LB. Shrimp (Steamed)
4 Whole Baby Portabella Mushrooms (Sliced)
1 Jar Alfredo Sauce (about half the jar)
Flour All Purpose (just enough to dust your pan)
Cheese (1/2 Cup) Shredded Cheese (what ever you have)
Cheese Parmesan Cheese
This is how pizza is done down south. Well, this is how I did a pizza in the south. It all started with a can of Pillsbury French Bread sitting in my refrigerator. I was looking at it and knew I wanted to make something with it. So I headed down to the store, and looked to see what would jump out at me. Well the Snow crabs were on sale and so were the shrimp, so the stage was set. The Baby Portabella Mushrooms were on sale to, so I snagged a pack of them too and headed home.
The shrimp were already steamed, but the crab legs needed some attention, so I set things up to steam them and smothered them in Old Bay Seasonings before I steamed them. They were done in about 6 minutes and once they sat for about an other 3 minutes I tore into them and got all of the meat out of the shells. While the crab legs were cooking I set up a baking sheet, with a sheet of aluminum foil, but the key here is, I did it upside down. It is, for me anyways, easier to work the dough with the pan upside down. Also get you oven preheated to 350 degrees.
I sprinkled some of the flour on the pan and opened the can of dough and very carefully unrolled it. If you look closely, there is a seam, and you can unroll it so it is a flat piece of dough. I supposed you could just buy a ready made pizza crust and adjust your ingredient sizes to accommodate that size crust. None the less, I used the unrolled French Bread and I stuck the pan with the now flat dough in the oven for about 7 minutes.
After 7 minutes, I pulled the pan out and very carefully flipped the dough over. The bottom, which is now the top is a bit more cooked then the top, now bottom. This works out perfect. I took the crab meat, shrimp and mushrooms and generously placed them everywhere. When I had completed that, I took my jar of Alfredo sauce and poured it on top of everything else, being very careful to make certain I covered everything. I then shoved it back in the over for 6 more minutes.
After 6 more minutes, I pulled it out and proceeded to pour the shredded cheese all over the top, once again, making sure to cover as much as possible. I used a Mexican 4 cheese blend, because it is what I had, but any shredded cheese should work for this recipe. I then stuck it back in the oven and basically watched it from that point. Since all oven are not the same, rather then giving a time limit for the final step, I'll just say, keep an eye on it from this point. You just want the cheese to melt, but not burn. My oven took about 4 minutes for it to get the way I wanted it.
Get it back out, let it cool for about 5 minutes, top it with Parmesan cheese and hot sauce if you like it and have at it. You can cut it into 4 good size pieces. Good Eats and enjoy!

Necessary Parts of a Successful Baby Shower
Celebrating for an incoming baby is one of the most important events in every family. When planning for the baby shower party, most importantly is to keep in ones mind to help the expectant mother along. It is extremely exciting to plan the party what with so many cute ideas in mind. Here are some tips to make the party as efficient and effortless as ever without sacrificing the energy of the would-be mother.
* Invite people who are closest only to the would-be mother and the family. This will save energy in entertaining people, minimizing the time for introductions and keeping them comfortable around.
* The theme should be the focal point of the party, but work around the budget. The theme that you choose for the baby shower will affect every other aspect of the party. Once the theme has already been established, it is now easy to work on the invitations, decorations, games, favors, cakes, food, gifts and everything else.
* Working on the invitations is the next step. Invitations can be bought from a store then handed or mailed, but making your own invitations can be a lot of fun, can be a test of your creativity and rewarding because you will also get a lot of compliments from the guests. It should be cute, original and full of colors.
* When it comes to decorating for a baby shower, think about atmosphere and "feel" you want by conveying the shower theme throughout the decorations. Make your baby shower decorations colorful and exciting.
* Games to be played should be clearly explained including: what you will need, how the game is played, and for what groups the game would be most appropriate. Every woman who has ever planned a baby shower knows how games really set the tone for the party. Singing sessions are very popular these days so why not include this as part of the party to make it more lively.
* Choose the party favors that best fit the personality and interests of the guests. Baby shower favors are small gifts of appreciation for coming to the party and a lasting memory of how fun and special the baby shower was. So, they are an important part of planning a shower.
* One of the most popular baby shower idea these days is baby shower cakes or diaper cakes. It is not an "essential" item but they do add fun and
a touch of class to the party.
* The food for the party would depend on the people coming, time of the party, theme of the party and the time to prepare the foods. If many people are coming; finger foods, beverages, and appetizers would be perfect. Sandwiches and soups might be a good idea. But if you only have a small group coming, then a full meal might not be too much work. It all depends on how much effort you want to put into the baby shower menu.
* Buy gifts to match the theme of the baby shower. If the would-be mother is a 1st time mother who needs basic baby supplies, a gift for the baby would be best. If the expectant mother already has 1 or more children, she may already have the main baby supplies she needs, and so a gift to pamper herself might be a fun idea.
The key to a beautiful and memorable shower party is not how much you spend for it. Even if it's simple but memorable, then it can be considered a grand baby shower.

What about if you are looking for ideas for Superbowl party food? Obviously, you would prefer quick easy appetizers, which are filling, tasty and simple to make. Nobody wants to be stuck in the kitchen fiddling with appetizers while the game is on! It might reassure you to know that there are lots of different appetizers that you can make with just three ingredients. Forget the fancy appetizer recipes and elaborate canapes you might have enjoyed at cocktail parties because they are not the kind of thing you will be making for Superbowl party recipes.
Easy Cold Appetizer Recipe Ideas
If you want to serve cold appetizer recipes, there is plenty of scope. A lot of cold appetizer recipes are make ahead appetizers because they will be fine in the refrigerator until you want to serve them. This is great if you have a lot of people coming over because you will have to make a lot of appetizers and it is easier if you can make some ahead of time, so you do not have to rush everything at the last minute.
There are plenty of three ingredient dip recipes that you can make. Serve a homemade dip with tortilla chips, potato chips, or pretzels and this is perfect for Superbowl party food or for a buffet table. If you are using mayonnaise as the base, you just need to add two other ingredients. When making dips, it is best to taste as you go, so you can get the quantities right. To the mayonnaise, you might like to add tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce to make a marie rose dip, curry powder and mustard to make a spicy dip, garlic and lemon juice to make a garlic dip or cucumber and fresh mint to make a raita.
How to Make Easy Brie Bruschetta
This delicious warm appetizer recipe could not be easier. Brie cheese and tomatoes make a mouthwatering topping for the crusty French bread and the hot, melted brie contrasts nicely with the cool, chopped tomatoes. You can add a little salt and pepper to this recipe if you like, or maybe some chopped fresh basil. This recipe makes enough to serve six people, so double it if you like.
What you will need:
1 loaf crusty French bread
8 oz brie cheese
6 ripe tomatoes
How to make it:
Slice the bread into one inch thick rounds, chop the tomatoes, and thinly slice the brie. Toast one side of the bread slices under the broiler, and then turn them over. Brush some of the juice from the tomatoes over the bread, and then layer the brie on top. Broil for a couple of minutes or until the brie melts. Top with the cold chopped tomatoes and serve.

Recipes For a Great Super Bowl Party
Are you ready for some football? Yes it's that time of year again; Super Bowl Sunday is around the corner. It is time to get ready for the super bowl parties we all love. You can be cooking for a crowd of 25 or just the family, these recipes are sure to please all party goers.
Don't just serve boring Chips and Salsa, this recipe is great and easy to make.
Crockpot Sausage Dip
Ingredients
3 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese
1 pkg of Owens Sausage (regular or spicy which ever you like)
2 cans Rotell Tomatoes with Chile's (mild, regular or hot)
Hot Sauce (optional)
Cut cream cheese into cubes and allow to soften, either at room temperature or for a minute in the microwave. Brown sausage in a skillet, drain grease completely, I usually pat mine with a paper towel once cooked to get off as much grease as possible.
In a crockpot combine the softened cream cheese, the cooked sausage and Rotell tomatoes. Cook on low for an hour, stirring occasionally to combine ingredients. Taste and add hot sauce as desired for added flavor.
You can use mild or hot tomatoes or sausage depending on how spicy you like your dip. You also can use a block of Velveeta Cheese instead of the cream cheese if you desire. Keep the dip warm in the Crockpot during the game, and serve with tortilla chips.
Buffalo wings are also a fan favorite.
Buffalo Breaded Chicken Wings:
Ingredients
¼ margarine
¼ hot sauce
½ cup flour
¼ tsp paprika
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cayenne pepper
¼ tsp salt
10 chicken wings and drumlets (of course more depending on the crowd)
Vegetable oil for frying
In a bowl melt the margarine or butter and add the hot sauce and the garlic powder. Mix together and set aside for later. In another bowl add together the flour paprika, cayenne pepper and salt, mix together. In a large bowl or bag, put in the wings and coat them with the flour mixture. Ensure that all of the wings are coated evenly with the flour mixture. Put the floured wings in the refrigerator for about an hour which allows the flour to stick to the chicken wings better.
After the wings have been in the refrigerator for an hour, cook the wings in a deep fryer with the oil heated to 350 degrees. Frying should take about 10 minutes or until the wings turn a dark golden brown. Remove from oil and place them in a large bowl, add the hot sauce mixture ensuring all of the wings are coated evenly. Serve with blue cheese or ranch dressing and celery sticks.
Also Nacho's are a favorite at Super Bowl Parties. Here is an easy recipe for Chicken nachos.
Kicking Chicken Nachos
Ingredients
Tortillas Chips
1-2 boneless chicken breast cut in bite size pieces
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp cumin
½-3/4 tsp cayenne pepper (depending on personal taste)
1 can sliced jalapenos
1 pkg Mexican Cheese blend
1 Can refried beans
1 cup chili (store bought or homemade)
Salsa
Sour Cream
Guacamole
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl mix together the cut up chicken breasts, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, cumin and cayenne pepper mix together well. In a hot skillet cook the chicken until no longer pink, and completely cooked through.
In a baking dish arrange the tortilla chips in layers. For the first layer add the refried beans (I find it easier to handle when they are heated before trying to put them on the chips). The second layers add the chili over the top. The chicken mixture is the third layer and top that with the shredded Mexican blend cheese. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is bubbling.
Once they are done cooking, top with the sliced jalapeno peppers if desired, and serve with salsa, sour cream and guacamole.
These appetizers are sure to keep all of the Super Bowl fans happy, and you will have a party they will remember. Are you ready for some football?
